Our Capabilities

Star Tissue is one of the UK’s leading independent manufacturers of hygiene paper products. Star Tissue manufactures a wide range of household and away-from-home paper products from its custom-built production facility in Lancashire.

Over the past three year’s we have made significant investments in our plant, machinery and systems to ensure we can meet the diverse needs of our customers in the away from home, washrooms, professional cleaning, healthcare, food service and industrial markets.

With three production lines, we have the capacity to convert 30,000 tonnes of tissue per annum and manufacture 1,000,000 quality rolls per day. Our investments in the latest production technology allows us to manufacture ply bonded flat sheet, ply bonded embossed, laminated micro-embossed and laminated embossed in both the consumer and away from home markets.

We also recognise that logistics plays an integral part in ensuring customers receive a reliable and flexible delivery service. We have invested heavily in our warehouse operation with over 150,000sqft of quality warehousing, with the capacity to hold over 5,000 pallets of finished goods ready for call off. Recently we added a new service yard spanning over 2 acres to support 8 loading bays, this is to ensure that we can hold and load multiple lorries and vans at one time, enabling goods to be loaded and dispatched more efficiently. This investment in the warehouse operation now see Star Tissue deliver over 500 Pallets every working day across the UK & Ireland.

Over the past 3 year’s we have made significant investments in increasing manufacturing capacity, implementing industry 4.0 and IOT. Through using this valuable machine data, we are able to plan production and scheduled maintenance with minimal disruption. In 2021 we fully automated two production lines, this has allowed us to further develop the quality of our current product range whilst introducing brand new iterations.

Star Tissue employees are at the forefront of our ambition to deliver the best possible quality and service to our customers. Our transformation means increased investment in training, equipment and new processes in order to make them safer and less laborious.

Our new state of the art pallet automiser has made our production operations more efficient and less labour intensive. Our forklift fleet is now 80% electric, bringing major benefits to our warehouse operation. Moving to electric forklifts has further reduced our carbon footprint and work-based noise. We have also installed a brand new waste extraction system that extracts waste paper straight from the production line into a recycled waste containment unit, ensuring we recycle 100% of our waste.

Experience makes us reliable

Star Tissue UK has been established since 2003 and it has grown year on year to become one of the leading independent manufacturers of hygiene paper products.

Continuous investment in new production technology and systems enables us to operate efficiently ensuring we can meet the needs of our diverse range of customers. As you would expect this is supported by a reliable logistics function ensuring a flexible and prompt delivery.
